The geographical area of the DOC of Riesi takes in the surrounding hills of Riesi, extends up to Butera to reach an altitude of 520 meters above sea level, in the territory of Mazzarino with a prevailing South-East exposure.
The proximity to the Mediterranean Sea gives the territory a mild and breezy climate, with dry summers and moderately rainy winters.
This climate favors the growing of autochthonous and international vines in the different types of soil present, allowing the production of wines rich in polyphenols, of good structure and great balance in their composition, which maintain harmony both when used in the same year of production and if destined for aging.
